MBBS Admission 2017 Latest News: Supreme Court allows Kerala Medical Colleges to charge Rs. 11 lacs as fees.
The private medical colleges in Kerala have been allowed to charge tuition fee of Rs. 11 lac per year by the Supreme Court of India for all admissions being conducted for the academic year 2017-18.
Every candidate will have to pay in cash Rs. 5 lacs and the remaining Rs. 6 lacs can be paid through other means including a bank guarantee.
This order will be implemented for the 85% state quota seats. For NRI quota seats the fee of Rs. 20 lacs per year remains unchanged.
The State Government had put a ceiling at Rs. 5 lacs and the Supreme Court has overruled the judgment of the Kerala High Court.
As a result of this verdict, many aspirants from Kerala are looking for MBBS admission abroad as MBBS abroad from Government Colleges can be done at 20%-30% of this fees and it is recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI).
