PUDUCHERRY – 19 Seats Vacant After 1st round of Counselling
Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC) has on this Sunday completed the 1st round of allotment of MBBS seats in Puducherry.
A total of 19 seats (3 Government) & 16 in Private Medical Colleges) were still vacant.
Out of 710 candidates which were supposed to appear for counseling, only 75 attended and 44 of them were allotted seats.
The selected students have to pay the fee immediately and join the college by 31st
CENTAC will announce the dates for 2nd round of counseling soon to allocate the 18 vacant seats.
CENTAC has also issued a circular inviting students to take admission under NRI quota. Last date to apply for this is 31st July.
The 16 seats left vacant in the Private Medical Colleges may be due to the high fee structure. MBBS abroad is possible in Government Universities at less than half the fee and many students prefer to go for MBBS Admission abroad as it is cost effective.
