Kerala: 2 Private Colleges sign agreement with Kerala Government to accept last year fees

CSI Medical College and MES Group of Institutions have signed an agreement with Kerala Health Minister Mrs. KK Shylaja for admitting student’s at last year’s fee structure which is as follows:
– Rs. 25,000/- per year fee for 25% of their seats
– Rs. 3 lac per annum fees for 30% of seats.
– Rs. 11 lac per year for 5 % seats.
– Rs. 15 lac per year per student for NRI students.

These colleges agreed citing social commitment as their reason for a greater cause. “We cannot accept the Rs 5.5-lakh fee for 85% seats as students from poor background won’t be able to bear this burden. We have a social commitment to cater to the demands of these poor students. We cannot go by specific interests of individual institutions,” they added.

All other colleges are waiting for the decision of the court before taking the final decision and have urged the entrance commissioner not to allot students their colleges till court verdict is pronounced.

It is worth mentioning here that every year thousand of MBBS aspirants from Kerala do MBBS from abroad as fees in private medical colleges in Kerala is very high and MBBS course abroad from Government Medical Colleges is available at low cost and quality of MBBS education is also better abroad.
