All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT)
This entrance test is conducted by CBSE (Central Board for Secondary Education) for the 15% merit positions in the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directives of the Supreme Court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India from time to time.
There are also State Governments/Universities/Institutions voluntarily participating in the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test – 2015 for using its merit list for admission in the Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges against seats under their control.
Participating states include Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Odisha, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Delhi University, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, Banaras Hindu University & Jamia Hamdard.
Central Board of Secondary Examination.
One Paper containing 180 Objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Zoology & Botany).

Candidate has option to give exam either in English or Hindi.
Candidate’s 1 mark will be reduced for each wrong answer and he/she will be rewarded 4 marks for each correct answer.
(a) Candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of his/her admission.
(b) Upper age limit is 25 years for general candidates. (30 years in case of OBC/SC/ST).
Candidates from Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana are not eligible for All India 15% quota seats as these States have opted out from the scheme since its inception.
Candidates from these states are eligible provided they can prove they are not eligible for admission in their states and are not domiciled in Andhra Pradesh or Jammu & Kashmir or Telangana.
However, these candidates can appear in AIPMT for admission to Armed Forces Medical college (AFMC), Pune.
Reservation of Seats
Reservation of Seats in Government Medical Colleges under 15% All India quota:
15% seats are reserved for SC (Scheduled Caste) candidates.
7.5% of the seats are reserved for ST (Schedule Tribe) candidates.
27% seats are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates.
3% seats are reserved for Physically Handicapped candidates. More details regarding this are available at http://www.mohfw.nic.in/
Availability of Application Forms – December 2015
Last Date of Submitting Forms – 31st December without late fees. 31st January 2016 with late fees.
Issuance of Admit Card – April 2016.
Date of Examination – May 2016.
Declaration of Results – June 2016.
