About the University

1. V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is one of the oldest and most respected University of Ukraine.
2. The University was established in 1805 – 212 years old.
3. The Medical School of the University was closed down in when all the Universities were closed and in their places divided special places of education were introduced.
4. In 1934 the University was revived but without the school of medicine. In 1993 the School of Medicine started training students once again.
5. Today the University has 3700 students out of which there are 2600 foreigners – many of whom are Indians.
6. Graduates of the school who are in thousands are working as physicians and scientists all over the world including in Canada, USA, France, UK, Hungary, India etc.
7. It is now not only a leading medical school of Ukraine but is also a leading scientific center.
8. The School of Medicine closely cooperates colleagues from Kharkiv and Ukraine as well as from other countries. 12. The Central Scientific Library is the oldest in Ukraine with more than 50,000 unique ancient editions and manuscripts – some as old as 300 years.

Founded in November 1804, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe. In October 1999, according to the decree of the President of Ukraine, Kharkiv State University gained the status of a national university and was named in honor of its founder, V.N. Karazin.

In 2003, following the decree of the President of Ukraine, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University obtained the highest status of a self-governing (autonomous) state university.

The medical faculty was opened among first four faculties of university and was called as department of medical sciences, subsequently renamed into School of Medicine which has existed 115 years.

The School’s faculty includes 22 doctors of sciences, full professors, 68 candidates of sciences, associate professors and instructors. Over 1080 students including 700 from other countries study here. Training is provided at the facilities of the University Schools and Kharkiv research and medical institutions. The School focuses its research on the modern problems of theoretical and clinical medicine. The Medical School has 8 Departments:

4. One Time Charge extra USD 2,000/- for university in S.No.1. For S.No.2, 3 and 4, the one time charge is $1500. For S.No. 5 -12, the one time charge if $1800 payable directly to the university.
5. Food & Personal Expenses extra. Food estimates around Rs. 5,000/- to Rs. 7,000/- per month depending upon personal habits.
6. Air Ticket extra approximately Rs. 20,000/- to Rs. 30,000/- one way.

8. 1 USD is calculated @ Rs. 65/-. Estimate may vary depending on Currency fluctuation which is not in our hands.
